KED Performing Arts Scholarships

As a non-profit corporation, Knock 'em Dead has two goals that affect students of all ages.  First, they encourage internships with the company in all aspects of theater productions (set design and construction, costuming, acting, lighting, etc.).   Second, they offer a fall scholarship each year to a deserving theater arts/performing arts student.  The scholarship will be awarded based on the student's past and future interest in the performing arts.  The money received must be used toward tuition or other expense associated with theater arts/performing arts classes.

The amount of the scholarship is based on tickets sales from the prior calendar year.  For each ticket sold, 10 cents is set aside to fund the scholarship One or more scholarships may be funded for Fall 2010.

Individuals interested in applying for the scholarship must complete a Scholarship. Application form and return it to Knock 'em Dead by May 20, 2010.  Application forms may be requested over the phone (385-0021).

As an alternative to requesting an Application, the student may apply by submitting written answers to the following questions:

*  GPA for High School and College (if applicable)
*  College Major (if applicable)
*  Theater/performing arts classes taken in High School, Performing Arts School    and/or College

*  Anticipated theater/performing arts classes to be taken in upcoming school year

EXPERIENCE
List any theater/performing arts activities in which you have participated (include acting, dancing, singing, technical aspects, etc.)

OTHER
In 100 words or less, please express why you are applying for this particular scholarship.  Include how you feel it would benefit you and what contributions you could make as the recipient.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Attach two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to your theater/performing arts abilities.

Note:  If you are awarded the Knock 'em Dead scholarship, you will be required to submit a receipt from the school/college you attend to verify that the money your received was applied at that institution.
